Baptism:  Because You Belong

Welcome to this introduction to our online preparation course for the sacrament of Baptism. 

If you are reading this page, it is because you spoken with our minister about baptism for yourself or a dependant loved one and you have been referred here for preparation.    Or, you may have found this page on your own and are interested in what you might learn about baptism here.  In either case, this online course is another step toward the significant and joyous step of baptism in your life of faith or the life of faith of a loved one.  Ultimately, baptism points you toward  the presence of God's love in your life and your belonging within the circle of the community of faith, the church, that turns to Jesus, God's Christ, for refuge.   Your own faith journey and your own sense of God's love guides you to the baptismal waters.  

At the bottom of this page is a link that will take you to part one of a six part program of preparation for baptism.  You are invited to take this program at your own pace.  Once finished there is a certificate you will print and bring with you to a personal meeting, either online or face-to-face, with the Salisbury United Church minister.  Along with this meeting you will need to be in attendance at worship services with our community of faith prior to your baptism or the baptism of an infant or child.
